The Vinegar Spell

“The Sour Jar:

One Curse, Infinite Uses”

(For when you’re too classy to hex them with fire—but just bitter enough to soak their name in vinegar.)

You don’t need eye of newt and a thunderstorm to cast power.

Sometimes, all it takes is vinegar, a jar, and the right amount of nerve.

Vinegar is the forgotten blade in a shadow witch’s toolkit. Sour, acidic, and unapologetically ruinous, it’s the perfect medium for banishing, spoiling intentions, sealing energy, and souring someone’s luck without ever lighting a candle.

Let’s break it down.

~What Is a Vinegar Spell?

It’s a spell of separation, decay, and disruption.

This isn’t sweetening. It’s not healing. This is when you’re done with the drama, tired of the energy, and want someone or something out of your space, your path, and your power.

The vinegar ferments and curses by saturation. The longer it sits, the more potent it becomes.

~What You’ll Need:

A glass jar with a tight lid

Vinegar (apple cider or white—you pick the vibe)

A small piece of paper with the target’s name or situation

3 sharp objects (rusty nails, thumbtacks, bent pins)

Herbs that speak your intent (see list below)

Thread, string, or hair (optional for binding)

Dirt, ashes, or black salt (for grounding & decay)

Suggested Herbs for Your Sour Spell:

Black Pepper: to irritate and break communication

Bay Leaf (ripped): for aggressive closure

Rosemary: for psychic severing

Thyme: to call courage and release what’s been clinging

Lavender: for calmness after the chaos

Mix what fits. This is your rot brew—build it like a signature perfume, if your perfume was made of spite and shadows.

~Step-by-Step: The Classic Sour Jar

1. Write the name or phrase. Fold it away from you. If it’s a person, write their name once. If it’s a situation, write the full phrase.

2. Wrap it in thread, tie it tight, and whisper:

“Bound in bitterness. Bound to rot.”

3. Drop it in the jar.

Add your herbs. Add your nails. Add your dirt. Then pour the vinegar until it covers everything.

4. Seal it tight.

Say aloud:

“Soured you are, and soured you stay. Until your presence fades away.”

5. Hide it in a cold, forgotten place.

Under the sink. In the shadows of your altar. In the back of a cabinet no one touches.

~What Happens Next?

You don’t check on it. You don’t obsess.

This is not a spell you babysit. You cast. You close. You walk away.

They’ll feel it in the tension, in the silence, in the way things fall apart when they try to push forward.

The longer it sits, the stronger it works.

~When to Dispose:

When your work is done.

When they’re gone.

When you no longer care.

Bury it far from your home (if safe), toss in a river (with intention), or burn the paper separately and clean the jar for future work.

Never just throw it in your trash. This work deserves respect.

~Final Word From the Shadows:

Vinegar doesn’t lie. It strips things down.

It ferments truth and curdles falsehood.

When you cast with vinegar, you cast with finality.

If you're still clinging to sweetness, don’t pick up the jar.

But if you're ready to sour what no longer serves you?

Welcome to the spell that never forgets.

Hehe, yes, The Jar ..... sometimes doesn't have to be a jar nor have vinegar if the Will be strong enough. case in point :

I have a small tin which contains : a dental pick made from surgical steel, a small nail file, a digital thermometer, and 3 jack knives. The tin, the dental pick, and one of the jack knives I've had for Decades, and two of the items belonged to my dead-ex. I take it with me when traveling ... or did.

Well, I got stupid and took it with me on a trip across state to visit a Shaman who I thought was also a friend. I ended up forgetting it. So I sent a pre-pai…

This is exactly what I was planning on doing with a cord cutting! I'm so done with some particular people and situations and want to just sever ties and memories. You have the very best posts! 🖤🖤🖤

Niiice!

Okay, so is it normal to have the same person in a jar and thinking of adding another? 🤣🔥⚔️🔥⚔️ Id like to see my handiwork, but you know those jerks I told you about will keep their mouths zipped no matter what.
