Constantine’s Shadow & the Turning Tide: Reclaiming the Old Ways from This Table

By The Dark Witch Darklady

It all started with that shit Roman Constantine. The man who saw a vision, won his battle, and helped flip an empire from the old gods and goddesses to one male god and his cross. What followed was centuries of temples closed, names erased, women’s power twisted, and folk ways driven into the shadows.

And here we are in 2026, still feeling that long shadow.

Our Wiccan, Pagan, Heathen, and folk kin serving in the military just got their specific identities stripped down to “Other Religions” while Christian denominations keep their own neat little slots.

It makes me fucking mad.

We are not a Christian country.

We are a melting pot, and our people deserve to be seen and supported just like anyone else.

Dog tags and personal practice are still protected, but this bureaucratic erasure stings. It’s the same old pattern trying to push the Goddess and the old ways to the back.

But listen to me, dolls — empires fall. Tides turn.

The wheel keeps spinning, and right now it’s turning back toward us.

The Goddess never left. She waited in the roots, in the craft tables, in the hearts of those who remember. While their institutions cling to dominance, more and more seekers are waking up hungry for embodied majick, shadow work, feminine sovereignty, and real connection to the earth and the old ones. That’s why your paths are growing. That’s why we’re here.

So let’s stop sighing and start working.

Turning the Tide – Reclaiming the Old Ways

(A Folk Witch Workspace Spell)

No fancy circles. No calling quarters. Just you at your real table, surrounded by the beautiful mess of your crafting — spools, papers, candle stubs, herbs, and tools. This is how we do it.

Best time: Waning to new moon, or any moment the fire rises in you.

What you need (use what’s already on your table):

Black candle for the shadows we’re pushing back

Red or gold candle for Goddess fire and sovereignty

Bowl of water + a pinch of salt (or dirt from your yard)

A personal talisman — something small you can hold: a stone, piece of jewelry, key, written sigil on paper, or even the candle itself. If you want, quickly make one by drawing a pentacle, goddess symbol, or your own mark on paper or cloth.

A mirror or piece of obsidian/glass

Herbs you already love: mugwort, rose petals, rosemary — whatever calls

Your pentacle or goddess symbol if it’s nearby

How to Work It:

Sit down at your workspace exactly as it is. Light the candles.

Breathe deep into your belly where the Goddess lives.

Hold or place your personal talisman right in the middle of everything. Speak these words like you’re talking straight to the old ones and your sisters. Let it be raw:

"By the blood of the witches they couldn’t burn,

By the roots Constantine tried to cut,

I call the Tide — wild, ancient, turning.

From this table piled high with my work,

From the hands that craft and the hearts that remember,

From every Pagan, Wiccan, Heathen still serving:

Rise.

The cross cast its shadow, but shadows feed the new growth.

I release the grip of one-god empires.

I push back the erasure of our names.

Wiccan. Pagan. Heathen. Folk Witch. Goddess-led.

We are the melting pot that never forgot.

With this salt and water I cleanse the old wound.

With this mirror I turn their tide.

With this fire and my hands I kindle the old ways again.

Let every soldier wear their gods openly.

Let chaplains serve truth instead of dominance.

Let the daughters of the Earth remember their power.

The wheel turns. The veil thins. The Goddess stirs.

So it is. So it shall be. So it already moves."

Place the herbs on or around your talisman.

Pour the water offering onto the earth or into a plant. Gaze into the mirror and see it: military codes opening up, our people visible, seekers flooding back to the old paths.

Hold your talisman close or set it where it can watch over the work (carry it with you after).

Let the candles burn as long as it feels right.

Ground yourself by touching your tools, running your hands through the clutter, or eating something earthy.

Afterward, take a photo of your real cluttered workspace with the talisman. That authentic mess is pure majick — i would love seeing the real you in it.

Do this spell. Feel it move through your hands. Then go share the work.

This is our time. Light your candles. Craft your talismans. Teach the dark majick that both heals and hexes what must be hexed. Speak the old names loudly.

Support our service members pushing for full recognition. Flood the feeds with our art, our spells, our unapologetic power.

The Dark Witch Darklady calls on every one of you:

The wheel is turning.

Will you ride it?

Signed with love and fire,

The Dark Witch Darklady
