Onion Peel Binding Ritual

Purpose: To silence gossip, slander, betrayal, or any unwanted energy tied to a person, trait, or behavior

Moon Phase: Waning Moon or Dark Moon

When to Use: When words have become weapons, and you want the tongue to rot with them

What You’ll Need:

• A fresh onion (preferably red or yellow)

• A black pen or ink

• A small slip of paper

• A trowel or sharp object to dig

• Gloves (optional—onion energy can sting sensitive skin)

• Your voice. Not loud—firm.

The Steps:

1. Prepare the Peel

Carefully remove the outer layer of the onion—just enough to wrap something in. Don’t tear it. The peel must remain mostly intact like a shell.

Why? Onion layers symbolize binding, layers of silence, protection, and decay.

2. Name the Target

On a small slip of paper, write the name, behavior, or trait you want to silence or suppress.

Examples:

• A person who gossips

• A trait within yourself (jealousy, obsession, fear)

• A phrase or repeated word that keeps showing up around you

Be exact. Vagueness weakens the work.

3. Wrap the Binding

Fold the paper tightly and place it within the onion peel. Wrap the peel around it like a cocoon.

As you do, speak aloud:

“I wrap your rot in skin once sweet.I bind your words, your spite, your heat.

May no ear hear you, no tongue form harm.

Rot and silence what you harm.”

4. Bury the Curse

Dig a hole at the base of a tree, near your property line, or somewhere the soil stays cool and dark.

Bury the onion peel cocoon with the intention of rot and containment.

Cover it while repeating:

“From root to rot, from hushed to still—Your poison stays. I bend the will.”

Turn away without looking back.

To Break the Binding:

If you ever wish to release it (not required unless you regret it), dig up the remains and burn them in black salt and vinegar under a waning moon.
