"When a witch meets her own reflection and doesn’t recognize the soul behind it anymore, it means evolution has begun."

The Witch in the Mirror Isn’t You Anymore
"And that’s exactly how it should be."
~Darklady
There’s a moment—maybe you’ve felt it—where you look in the mirror, and something stares back that you don’t recognize.
It’s not fear.
It’s not glamor.
It’s not even age.
It’s the absence of who you used to be.
And if that unsettles you…Good. That means you’re becoming.
The Lie of Consistency
Modern witchcraft loves to sell you consistency.
The “stick to your path” doctrine. The “know who you are” crap.
The polished identity: moon phase this, sun sign that, neatly labeled altar jars and mass-produced aesthetics.
But real witchcraft—the kind that changes you—doesn’t leave your reflection intact.
It erodes.
It reforges.
It burns your old name and speaks a new one while you’re still catching your breath.
So if you no longer look like the witch you once were?
If your spells feel different, darker, deeper? If your smile has more shadow than light in it now?
That’s not a problem.
That’s your initiation.
Growth Feels Like Possession
Here’s a truth no one writes in their little pastel journals:
Becoming powerful feels like losing your mind before it feels like owning it.
You might:
Burn tools you once held sacred
Change your altar without planning
Get angry at the moon
Wake up with names in your mouth you didn’t speak aloud
Look into the mirror and think:
“Who is she? And why is she smiling when I’m not?”
That’s not you being lost.
That’s the part of you that outgrew the surface pulling you under.
Let it.
Drown in it.
Sink into the witch you were always meant to be—not the one who showed up soft for approval.
Let Her Die
The witch in the mirror? The one who did what she was told?
The one who tiptoed around “harm none” while choking on her own truth?
Let her die.
Honor her—but bury her.
She was the mask.
You are the storm.
And If You're Not Sure Who You Are Now?
Even better.
That means you’re between skins.
That means your bones are stirring.
That means something ancient is cracking through your ribcage and taking form.
It’s not about knowing who you are.
It’s about unbecoming what was expected.
Look again.
You don’t recognize her? Then say this:
“I do not know you.
But I know what I’ve buried to become you.
And I will follow you into the dark.”
And she’ll smile.
And so will you.
