One Year in the Shadows
One year ago, I opened this site without knowing who would walk through.
I thought building this would be louder. Faster. Clearer. I thought people would arrive in waves if the work was honest enough. What I learned instead is that real things grow quietly, and mostly in the dark.
This year wasn’t polished. It was stubborn. It was built on late nights, doubt, grief, anger, and a refusal to soften what I teach to make it easier to sell. Some people stayed. Some disappeared. Some circled back when they were ready. That’s how shadow work actually moves. It doesn’t perform on command.
I learned that teaching dark witchcraft isn’t about aesthetics or approval. It’s about clarity, responsibility, and standing by your work even when it would be easier to dilute it. Especially then.
This space was never built for everyone. But as I mark my first year this March 200+ monthly subscriber witches have come through my halls for teaching.
Darkwitchery.com was built for those who recognize it and if you're here that is you. Congratulations
So to mark one full year, I’m leaving a piece of real work here. Just to mark in the dark, for those who found me in this first year.
If you’re here, you’re here for a reason.
Thank you for all your support.

The First Mark of Staying
An Anchoring & Power-
Setting Spell for the Shadow Witch
(One-Year Grimoire Spell)
This spell is cast to claim permanence.
It is cast to tell the current of shadow:
I am not passing through.
When to Cast
Best at night
Waning or dark moon preferred, but not required
Cast once only
This is a threshold spell. Repeating it weakens it.
What You Will Need
Candles
One black candle (authority, endurance)
One dark red or deep purple candle (personal power, command)
Liquids
Black vinegar or dark vinegar (binding intention to reality)
A small bowl of water (not holy, not charged, just water)
Herbs Choose dried if possible:
Mugwort (shadow sight, inner knowing)
Rosemary (memory, staying power, mental clarity)
Bay leaf (command, declaration)
Optional: patchouli or vetiver if you have it (grounding, weight)
Other
Small glass jar with lid
Heat-safe dish
Black thread or cord
Paper and black ink
This is not decorative.
Every piece has a job.
Preparation
Clean your space in a practical way.
Clear surfaces. Remove clutter. No smoke cleansing unless you want it.
On the paper, write your full name once.
Under it, write this sentence exactly:
I remain where my power grows.
Fold the paper toward you three times.
Place it in the bottom of the glass jar.
The Casting
Light both candles.
Hold the mugwort and rosemary in your hands together and say:
“I see the pattern beneath the noise.
I do not flee pressure.
I do not dissolve under waiting.”
Place the herbs into the jar.
Hold the bay leaf and say:
“This is my declaration.
I do not drift.
I remain.”
Tear the bay leaf once and add it to the jar.
Now pour vinegar into the jar until it covers everything inside.
As you pour, say:
“What I choose is fixed.
What I build holds.
What is not aligned can rot away.”
Do not rush this part.
Sealing the Spell
Drip three drops of black candle wax into the jar.
Then one drop from the red or purple candle.
Tie the black thread tightly around the jar lid three times, knotting it once.
As you tie, say:
“This mark is sealed.
I remain.”
Place the jar between the two candles.
Sit silently for a few moments. Do not visualize. Just feel the weight settle.
Extinguish the candles without ceremony.
After the Spell
Keep the jar somewhere dark and undisturbed:
A cupboard
A shelf
A drawer
Do not shake it.
Do not open it.
Do not talk about it.
This spell works through quiet pressure, not fireworks.
What This Spell Does
This spell:
Anchors your work so it doesn’t leak energy
Stabilizes long-term growth
Clears wandering attention
Sharpens discernment around what stays and what leaves
After casting, it is normal for:
Old distractions to fall away
Some people to disengage
Momentum to feel slower but heavier
That is not failure.
That is roots setting.
Grimoire Note
This spell marks a year of staying when leaving would have been easier.
This is for witches who understand that endurance is a form of power.

Congratulations 🎉 🎉 🎉
Thank you for your hard work setting up these lessons. I may not be talkative and tend to work quietly alone, but your classes have really helped guide me on my path.
“Happy Anniversary DarkWitchery”.
I am really looking forward to doing this. You do so much for us. I for one, am very lucky to have found you back in 2019. I am slow at learning and doing things, but I’ll always be with you! Thank you for all you do Darklady
🖤🔥🖤
I'll cast it but I am changing a few things to tailor it to my needs.
