It's not a pond it's a portal!

“It’s Not a Pond, It’s a Portal (And Yes, It Judges You)”

By Dark Witchery

I could’ve planted tomatoes. I could’ve added a nice, boring bench and called it “the reading corner.”

But no. I’m a witch.

A real one.

So obviously I summoned a dark fountain of majickal power in the corner of my yard—because why wouldn’t I want a cursed water feature glaring at the neighbors?

Let me introduce you to my pond that is in the works:

A bubbling black pool of shadow energy in the north west corner of my yard, where frogs will chant my name (eventually), dragonflies may or may not act as security guards, and the wind chime above it already whispers secrets no one asked for.

Why in the Northwest corner you ask well!

305° NW is actually a damn good spot for a dark witchy pond.

Here’s why:

Northwest Direction = Air + Water Energy

  • Elemental blend: Northwest sits between Air (mental clarity, messages, breath) and Water (emotion, intuition, spirits)—perfect for scrying, divination, and spellcasting that involves emotional transformation or ancestral communication.

  • Good for:

    • Spirit whispers

    • Moon reflection work

    • Quiet power-building

    • Long-term spell setting

    • Drawing in familiars (frogs, dragonflies, birds)

Shadow Witch Bonus

The NW is tied to the waning crescent in directional correspondences—perfect for shadow work, release rituals, dark moon intentions, and yes, whispering my secrets to a pond that keeps them.

I will be adding

A small mirror facing east for sunrise energy amplification.

  • Plant a moisture-loving night-bloomer like evening primrose or night-blooming jasmine nearby to draw in lunar energy.

  • And Burying a charm in the NW edge of the pond (a sealed jar with obsidian, lavender, and a sigil) to lock in power and anchor intention.

Bottom line?

My pond is going to

hear,

hold, and harness energy like a seasoned shadow sentinel.

So now let’s talk decor:

Black stones that look like they were stolen from Hades’ driveway.

A pentagram platform so I can bless the frogs or hex the mailman depending on my mood.

Deep red amaranth that screams “someone here has a blood oath pending.”

Creeping Jenny, daisies, and coleus because even dark witches need some drama queens in their foliage, lucifer, my favorite plant that is already there and rosemary.

And of course, the solar-powered fountain.

Why solar? Because I like my power renewable and my curses sustainable.

This isn’t just a pond.

It’s a summoning circle with landscaping.

It’s a scrying mirror with lily pads.

It’s a sanctuary, a spell station, and maybe a trap for people who talk during movies.

So when someone says, “Oh, that’s cute, is it for fish?”

No, darling.

It’s for spirits.

And frogs.

And midnight spells where I sip tea and glare into the water like I’m about to rewrite reality (because I am).

If the wind chime starts laughing, you’re the offering.

It is sold where they carry pond supplies it called black water dye here. It also give the your lily pads a deeper mystical look. We used it in a coy pond in the grave yard to keep people from seeing the babies that I traded for food and supplies for the upkeep
