Laying in Bed in Total Darkness Listening to “Gypsy”
Like I’m Summoning the Ghosts of My Past Bad Decisions
by Darklady
There I was.
Lying flat in the pitch black void of my room, headphones in, soul out.
Fleetwood Mac’s “Gypsy” swirling through my skull like a haunted lullaby for the emotionally over-cursed.
No lights.
No candles.
No distractions.
Just me, the shadows, and Stevie Nicks reminding me that I am, in fact, a mystical disaster in velvet.
This Isn’t Just a Vibe. This Is a Ritual.
At this point, “Gypsy” isn’t a song—it’s a full spell.
A personal séance.
A reminder that yes, I too once danced barefoot in the ruins of my own poor life choices, wrapped in lace and delusion, thinking this time the spell jar would fix him.
Spoiler: it didn’t.
But the beat still hits. The darkness still comforts. And my familiar is somewhere in the corner silently judging me while licking his tail.
I’m Not Sleeping—I'm Astrally Spite-Scrolling
You think I’m going to bed like a well-adjusted creature of the night?
Please.
I’m floating somewhere between “should I do a love spell” and “burn his name in graveyard ash,” with “Gypsy” playing on repeat like the soundtrack to my slow descent into empowered madness.
This is Witch Self-Care
Lying in bed in complete darkness, headphones in, Fleetwood Mac on—this is how witches recharge.
Not bubble baths.
Not vision boards.
Just shadow,
sound,
and spite.
So the next time someone asks if I’m “okay,” I’ll just whisper:
“She is dancing away from you now…”
and turn up the volume.
Because I’m not just relaxing.
I’m communing with my chaos.

Witch’s After-Dark Playlist
For laying in bed, side-eyeing the spirits, and pretending your headphones are a crown
1. “Gypsy” – Fleetwood Mac
Theme: Floating through your trauma in silk and shadow. Bonus points if you cry with dignity.
2. “Bury a Friend” – Billie Eilish
When your inner demons start whispering back. Sensual, sinister, and slightly possessed.
3. “House of the Rising Sun” – The Animals
For witches with a past, a flask, and no regrets.
4. “I Put a Spell on You” – Annie Lennox (or Screamin' Jay Hawkins if you want to hex your ex raw)
Literally the vibe. Dance or glare, your choice.
5. “Black Sheep” – Metric (Brie Larson version if you want to be dangerous and hot)
For when you need to remind the mirror you’re not like the other girls—you bite.
6. “Season of the Witch” – Donovan
Walk slowly. Look haunted. Maybe hex someone in your thoughts.
7. “Seven Devils” – Florence + The Machine
When you’ve finally had enough and the spirits rise with you.
8. “Running Up That Hill” – Kate Bush
Yes, Stranger Things ruined it for the basics. No, we don’t care. It still slaps.
9. “Believer” – Imagine Dragons (but only if you chant while it plays)
For when you want to kick a door down with your emotional backstory.
10. “Control” – Halsey
Speaks to the part of your soul that eats authority figures for breakfast.
11. “God Is a Woman” – Ariana Grande
Only if you play it while glaring at someone through candlelight.
12. “Jolene” – slowed, haunted remix
The version where Jolene doesn’t just take your man, she takes your soul.
13. “People Are Strange” – The Doors
If you’ve ever watched your neighbors and thought, “I could curse you from here.”
14. “Dark Horse” – Katy Perry (feat. Juicy J)
Surprisingly witchy pop with glamor spell vibes.
15. “Witch” – Devon Cole
This one’s literal. Own it.
